The client's challenge

Pen Store’s previous packaging solution was time consuming in the packing process. They had a process that required the staff to manually close the packages with tape – which took a long time and was not optimal from an ergonomic perspective. They therefore needed a new packaging solution that was easier to handle and that also matched their new graphical profile.

The Antalis solution

For Pen Store to streamline its packing process, a box with glued corrugated cardboard was chosen, which eliminates all use of tape. The new boxes are also equipped with a Peel & Seal solution that makes it easier to open and close the box. It’s an advantage for Pen Store to remove the box-taping step, but it also enhances the customer experience. In addition, the boxes are finished with lacquer to ensure optimal print quality and protection against friction damage.

The new packaging has been designed to be cost effective and to create a better customer experience:

  • The packaging has been customised to PostNords standards for the transportation options “Varubrev” and “MyPack”. This means their shipments are cost optimised, as they only pay for the size of the package they send.
     
  • To match their graphic profile, the box has a yellow exterior with black logo visible from all sides. This enhances the customer experience - something Pen Store quickly noticed when customers displayed their experiences on social media.
     
  • To optimise process even more, Antalis now stocks Pen Store’s boxes and takes care of their refills. Before this, Pen Store had to deal with several suppliers and plan orders themselves. They also had capital unnecessarily tied-up in warehousing.
